Magnesium is one of the most effective and economical metals for underground sacrificial anodes because of its inherent negative potential and high current output per unit weight. We produce magnesium anodes from both high potential and AZ63 alloy. The High Potential Magnesium Anode from “HAKA” provides higher potential -1.70 vs Cu/CuSO4 refference electrode and offers more current output than AZ63 magnesium anode which is ideal for using in high resistivity soil environment.
In order to produce high quality magnesium anodes :
- We adopt magnesium alloys which have better quality than normal industry standard.
- We take mechanization casting process in our own plant, and only use the above 80% high pure alloy from each melting in casting the anodes. Futher the whole casting procedure is protected by inert gases so the anodes would not contain any inpurities like oxidation slag inclusion caused by solvent and burning.
If heats are bigger than one metric ton, two samples will be taken at the beginning and end of each heat poured for chemical composition analysis. If the heat is smaller than one metric ton, one sample will be taken. The chemical composition analysis will be conducted at laboratory by using Spectrometer. Appropriate number of samples will be taken from each order for conducing electrochemical properties analysis in lab, the test apparatus and procedure are fully comply to ASTM G97 standard with accept criterion 1) High Potential Mg Anode no less than 50% efficiency and 2)AZ63 Mg Anode no less than 50% efficiency.
